How It All Started
My passion for culinary arts and pastry-making began during my childhood in Venezuela. A school challenge led me to discover my talent in the kitchen. After repeating sixth grade due to difficulties with reading, I met a nun who encouraged me and introduced me to a pastry course specializing in fondant. It was there that I learned how to bake cakes and discovered my natural ability for confectionery.
Later in life, I found additional motivation to follow my passion through an unexpected source: a pair of shoes I dreamed of owning, but my family couldn’t afford due to limited resources. Determined, I decided to earn the money myself by selling cakes to neighbors. This small venture not only allowed me to purchase the shoes but also sparked a deeper desire to grow and learn in the world of cooking.
Despite financial challenges, I pursued my dream of obtaining a degree in gastronomy. Though I had to pause my studies due to economic limitations, the experience strengthened my determination to keep moving forward in my culinary career.
